Meet Our Principal

It is with great excitement that I introduce myself to the John J. Daly Elementary School community as your new principal. I attended the University of Massachusetts – Amherst and began teaching right after graduation in a fourth-grade bilingual classroom in Los Angeles.

I have been an elementary school principal for nineteen years in three different states—California, Massachusetts, and New York. I love being a principal. Some things that I have learned from the students, staff, and families that I have had the honor to serve over the years are:

• All children want to succeed, ask questions, play, and be engaged in meaningful learning opportunities and will do so with teachers who care for them.  
• Teachers want to create those successful learning environments for all their students.  Teachers also want to be cared for and in turn, they want to do the very best for each child in their care.
• Every child is a gift and families give these gifts to our schools to encourage and help to cultivate.  I will continue to collaborate with families so that we can create the very best learning environment for all children.  

I am honored to join John J. Daly Elementary School as your principal. I look forward to supporting the school’s continued success in collaboration with the staff, students, and Port Washington community.
